Kirk as Storyteller

Alban Arthan (Winter Solstice), 2003

Alban Arthan (Winter Solstice), 2003. This year the ritual was performed as a Welsh rite. The night was chilly but not cold. We invoked Lleu Llaw Gyffes and Gwydion, celebrating the healing of the solar eagle and the return of the sun. Our fire was quite small and only built up to a roaring blaze during the working of Strengthening the Sun.

Kirk was Druid 1 and Storyteller, Gannd was Druid 2, Dame Julian was Seer, Arlene was Bard, Gordon was Druid 3, Tissha was the Warrior and Daki was the Sanctifier.

Samhain, 2003

Samhain, 2003. The air was warm, the sky dark and the Henge was full of power. Morrigan and the Dagda were invoked and the Seer led the people on a trance journey to the Blessed Isles, the isles of the dead, where they could meet up with their beloved ancestors.

Gannd was Druid 1, Tissha was Druid 2, Kirk was Seer, Dame Julian was Bard, Arlene was Druid 3, Gordon was the Warrior and Linda was the Sanctifier.

Three Realms Festival, 2003

Three Realms Festival, 2003. This time, Gannd, Kirk and Dame Julian trekked into the mountains above Santa Monica for this great festival sponsored by the Ravens Cry Grove, ADF of Los Angeles. There was a great Bardic evening, lots of great classes (including how to play a harp!) and even an outdoor shower under a tree!

The Conga LineSummerlands Festival, 2003

Summerlands Festival, 2003. Kirk and Michele went off to Ohio for this wonderful festival. Mike Dangler created a ritual using the words from Jimmy Buffet songs, which was a hoot!

Lughnasadh, 2003

Lughnasadh, 2003. This was Greenvie's first time to lead a High Holiday as Druid 1, and she did a fabulous job! We had 41 attendees for this ritual and invoked Lugh and Macha, marrying them as the King of the Gods and the Goddess of Sovereignity.

The Celebrants were Greenvie as Druid 1, Don as Druid 2, Linda as Druid 3, Kirk as Druid 4, Gannd as Seer, Arlene as Bard and Michele as Warrior.

Skip and Fran and KirkSirius Rising & Starwood, 2003

Sirius Rising & Starwood, 2003. Kirk went to these two festivals this year and camped in Druid Heights with the rest of the Druids. Archdruid Skip Ellison passed down his Cernunnos antler headress to Kirk who wore them while dancing around the bonfire.

Kirk invokes TaranisMidsummer, 2003

Midsummer, 2003. We had 88 people in the henge for Midsummer! With the fires on Mt. Lemmon and the Rincons visible from the ritual site, our invocation and magic workings to Taranis, Lord of Storms, were even more needed.

This time, Kirk was Druid 1, Gannd was Druid 2, Greenvie was Druid 3 and Bard, Tissha was Druid 4, Morgan was Seer and Sally was Sanctifier.

Gannd is Consecrated as a Dedicant PriestWellspring, 2003

Wellspring, 2003. Gannd and Kirk went to Wellspring, the ADF National Meeting. There, Gannd became an ADF Dedicant Priest and Kirk was sworn in as the SW Regional Druid.

There are some great shots taken during the Sumbel on Saturday night.

Beltane, 2003. Here are photos from the Grove's ritual in the henge. We had a great time with the Maypole! Gannd was Druid 1, Kirk was Druid 2, Don was Druid 3, Greenvie Druid 4, Arlene was Bard, Morgan was Seer and Tissha was the Sanctifier.

Imbolc, 2003. Here are photos from the Grove's Imbolc Ritual in the henge. Arlene Davis was Druid 1, Gannd was Druid 2, Taranucnos was Druid 3, Sally Chandler was Druid 4, Kirk Thomas was the Bard and Don Davis was the Seer.

The WeddingFirst Handfasting

First Handfasting in our Henge. Here are photos from our first Handfasting/Wedding to be held in the Stone Circle, which took place on January 2, 2003.
