Starwood 2007

Once again, Nora and Kirk drove off to New York state for Sirius Rising and Starwood at the
Brushwood Folklore Center. Gannd had to work, so he flew in and joined us later. Linda and
Avery from Phoenix also joined us there, as did Raven and Carrion Mann from Whispering Lake
Grove in Erie, PA, and Diana Parr and Emerald from Sasafrass Grove in Pittsburgh, PA. Medb
and Craig from Feather River Protogrove in Chico, CA also joined us for the full two weeks.

And, as usual, Karen of 6th Night Grove and Kirk hosted Druid Central in Druid Heights.

Once again, Lees and Jim from Three Cranes Grove, Columbus, OH and Robin Hegan from New
York City came and spent a week each with us. Woof! We all have such a good time.

We held two rites in Druid Heights - one in our chapel, led by Kirk, and another one by our fire,
led by Nora. The Starwood ADF Rite was also really good. Ian came up with the idea of doing it
as a Lughnasadh rite, and we honored Lugh and Tailtu. For Tailtu, we invoked Her as the Goddess
who died for Ireland, clearing the land, and Ian took us in trance to see Her body become the
Cosmos, and then to see the cosmos become part of us. It was seriously cool.

West and his fiance, Sarah, were married in the woods by Isaac and Phaedra Bonewits. West wore
a kilt and no shirt, and Sarah's wedding dress was made of paint. It was a lovely service.

One morning Ian awoke to discover a miraculous manifestation had appeared on the canvas above
his bed. If it had occurred on a tortilla, we'd have had armies of reporters crawling all over us.
What does it look like to you?

Kirk also tried switching from his usual whiskey offerings to Taranis to something he actually liked
himself, champagne. However, Taranis wasn't pleased, and one of the few thunderstorms, and a
huge one at that, struck just before and during Kirk's only workshop. He took the hint and gave
Taranis a full bottle of whiskey the next day!
