Samhain 2006

Feast of the Dead

| Back to Main Page | Back to Photos Page |

This was a good Samhain this year, with 62 people attending. Kirk was the Orator, Monica was the Sacrificer,
Arlene the Bard, Dennis the Warrior and Nora the Seer. Sanctifiers were Jeff and Andrea.

As usual, we spend time offering to our sacred Dead, with Dennis sacrificing a pony keg of beer. We also spoke
the names of all our Dead who passed on this year, including our war dead in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Nora led a trance journey to Tir na nOg, the Isles of the Dead, and everyone got an apple to hold, to help them
on the journey.

We offered specially to the Morrigan and the Dagda, and to Lugh Lamfhada. Our ritual play was about the Dagda's
trip to the Fomors, His meeting with Morrigan at the river Unius, and the second battle of Moytura, where Lugh
killed Balor.
