Midsummer 2005

We Invoke Taranis and the Monsoon!

This year's Midsummer was held to honor Taranis, Gaulish Lord of Storms, and Epona, Gaulish Horse and
Sovereignity Goddess. We also did a working to Taranis to bring on the Monsoon.
The day after the ritual, the sky clouded over and we even got rain the following night! The Monsoon, however,
did not set up until a week or so after the ritual.

Julian was the Orator (Druid 1), Kirk was the Sacrificer (Druid 2), Nora was the Seer, Arlene was the Bard,
Mark was the Warrior, and we had two Sanctifiers, Jeff and Robert. We had 59 people in attendance.

At Beltane we began a tradition of enacting a playlet instead of just telling the story of the myth.
For Midsummer, we told the tale of how Taranis came to the Rincon Mountains to be worshipped by our Grove.
We also did a magic working, gathering up power to send to Taranis, asking Him to bring on the Monsoon.
