A Welsh Rite for Lleu and Gwydion
at the Winter Solstice

| Back to Photos Page | Back to Main Page |

This year we had 66 attendees for our rite honoring the Gods Lleu Llaw Gyffes and Gwydion
and the Winter Solstice.

Gannd was the Orator, Nora the Sacrificer, Kirk the Seer, Nora the Bard and Mark the Warrior.
Kirk told the story of Lleu, Blodeuwedd and Gwydion, and how Lleu, the wounded Solar Eagle, was
brought back to health by his uncle, Gwydion, much as the sun returns to strength beginning at
the Winter Solstice.

A special working to stengthen the sun was also performed, where the Fire, small and weak (just
as the sun is now) is built up to be strong and bright.
