1. Present were David Foster (Gannd), Senior Druid; Arlene Davis, Treasurer &Acting Scribe; Morgan Canady,
Member at large; Beryl Baker. .
2. Minutes.
a. The Minutes of the previous meeting could not be approved as there was not a quorum.
3. Lughnasadh.
a. 6:00 PM August 1, 2002 Kirk and Steve's home
1) Discussion of the duties of Ritual Officiants in Grove Rituals
2) Barb and Brandy are making "Corn Dolly's" for the Lughnasadh rituals
3) We need to confirm the site and time for the TAWN Open Ritual as neither Kirk or Steve were
present this evening.
4) TAWN Open Ritual 6:00 PM August 3, 2002 Kirk and Steve's home (Pending approval of K&S)
5) We need to decorate Lugh's spear for the Lughnasadh Ritual.
4. Fall Fest
a) Do we want to volunteer to do an alter for the Fall Fest ritual? We need more information on what is needed?
We discussed a "teaching" alter based on the home alter in the dedicants program.
5. Pursewarden's Report.
a. The Pursewarden reported that We currently have $70.68 in the SSG treasury.
6. Discussion (to be continued at next meeting).
a. Should we have a sacred shaft in the ritual space and what are acceptable offerings for the shaft?
b. Should we have a donation box for consumables and regalia for the Grove or continue to use the
coins in the sacred well for this?
c. Are we going to collect dues regularly at Maxim's and Business meetings with the proceeds to
cover membership renewals?
d. Are we all going to renew our memberships at Samhain?
e. We need a list of grove regalia, what we have, what we need, and what we want.
f. We need a list of ritual consumables so we can all help keep the grove stocked.
g. How should grove members help decorate the shrines at the henge?
h. David is doing a mead and cordials class; we need to bring 1-gallon cans of honey to make mead.
We use mead in ritual and we should help make it.
i. A list of active members needs to be made so we can see how many we now are.
7. Ironwood Forest National Monument
a. Beryl brought in flyers on a movement to Help Protect the Ironwood Forest National Monument.
Suggestions were made on ways to get the word out. We should put it on our website.
8. Dates Of Upcoming Meetings
a. General Business Meetings.
1) Maxim's - Wednesday, August 7
4) Kirk & Steve's - Wednesday, August 21
b. Rituals.
1) New Moon - August 8. This is a Sumerian ritual.
2) Lughnassah - Thursday, August 1 (unless we do the TAWN Open Ritual, which would be on Saturday, August 3). Site opens 6 pm - Ritual begins just before sunset.
c. Dedicant Program Meetings.
1) Gannd's - Monday, July 22
2) Kirk & Steve's - Monday, July 29
3) Don & Arlene's - Monday, August 5
